Payroll Representative

Job Description RESPONSIBILITIES: Process employee payroll data, maintain accurate employee records, and handle inquiries from employees and auditors. Responsible for input and verification of data to support timely payroll for assigned employee groups Review all hires, terminations, and position changes in payroll information on assigned groups for accuracy Assist with preparation of bi-weekly, monthly, and annual payroll reports and documents Assist with compilation of audit documents and internal control procedures to align with SBOA best practices and Indiana Code Respond to all questions regarding current and historical employee pay documents in a timely and professional manner Coordinate with offsite locations to ensure absence tracking and payroll timekeeping is accurate and adjust as necessary Ensure that payroll is compliant with board policies, federal/state/local tax laws, labor laws, and teacher contract agreements Assist with other payroll, benefits, and miscellaneous business-related tasks as assigned QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE: Computer experience required, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong attention to detail and an understanding of payroll systems, tax regulations, and payroll best practices. Absolute commitment to confidentiality. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Demonstrated punctuality and good attendance. Ability to communicate well verbally. Ability to manage multiple tasks. Participate in professional development as assigned. High school diploma. Accounting/Payroll experience preferred.
