JDAPP Youth Advocate
This role directly supports justice-involved youth enrolled in the Detention Alternative Pilot Program (DAPP) in accordance with the MOU with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Position Details
- Status: Non-Exempt
- Reports To: DAPP Program Supervisor and Site Manager
- Schedule: Approximately 37.5 hours per week
- Compensation: $50,000
- Employment Type: Full-Time, At-will
Position Summary
The DAPP Youth Advocate provides direct support to program participants through mentoring, transportation, attendance monitoring, and engagement during structured programming.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide mentoring and youth support aligned with program goals
- Assist in ensuring participants meet weekly service hour requirements:
- 3 hours CBT
- 3 hours mentoring
- 14 hours structured programming
- Provide transportation to and from program activities as assigned
- Support attendance tracking and daily reporting
- Maintain positive, professional relationships with participants
Transportation Requirement
This role requires:
- Valid driver’s license
- Safe, reliable vehicle
- Proof of auto insurance with minimum coverage of $100,000 / $300,000
- Ability to transport youth participants
Qualifications
- Experience working with youth or community-based programs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to youth development and accountability
