PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

Product Development Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Design or redesign plastic thermoform and/or rotomold parts based on customer input/feedback
• Assist in developing product design solutions by providing input, ideas, and options, from conception through build and manufacture
• Using independent judgment, convert customer's preliminary product design ideas into working 3D CAD models and detailed 2D drawings along with supporting documentation
• Communicates timelines internally and externally
• Meet with internal and external customers to document project requirements and progress.
• Responds and coordinates to sales and quality requests for new product drawings
• Responsible for the efficient and accurate production of CAD drawings/prints for management, external customers, and tooling vendors
• Manages all aspects of the internal quality control process to ensure customer satisfaction and ISO compliance within part design
• Evaluates the feasibility of design ideas
• Design and develop physical prototype parts from CAD geometry (in-house training provided)
• Other responsibilities as the business requires

Requirements:

• S. or A.A.S. degree in Computer Aided Mechanical Design or related field or equivalent experience
• 3 - 5 years experience in CAD design, preferably SolidWorks
• 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
