As a Surgery Scheduler, you will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of care for your assigned surgery service line. This includes scheduling patient appointments, encounters, therapeutic and ancillary testing, and procedures as needed. You will also schedule surgeries in the main OR and/or Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASCs). Key Responsibilities: Schedule patient appointments, surgeries, x-rays, and required tests. Obtain insurance authorizations and prepare all necessary documentation, charts, and clinic information for physicians. Answer, screen, and respond to incoming calls. Prepare and forward required documents to appropriate departments, including: Insurance authorization, Charge documents and reconciliations, Disability and workers’ compensation forms Explain charges to patients, assist with billing questions, and coordinate directly with Department Billing and Physician Support Services. Serve as a liaison between patients, physicians, nursing units, and other UCLA departments. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports, as needed. Provide support in related areas such as appointment scheduling, pre-registration, patient reception, and cash collection. Perform other duties and tasks, as assigned.
