Registered Nurse Inpatient Services - Part Time

Nursing Position

Under general supervision, plans, directs, and evaluates total nursing care and functions within the organization, in accordance with established philosophy.

Part Time, 48 hours per pay

Every other weekend and holiday rotation

Graduate of an accredited program in nursing.

Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) preferred.

Active State of Ohio Registered Nurse Nursing License.

CPR - approved by the American Heart Association.

Basic computer skills.

Provides a positive and professional representation of the organization.

Promotes culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, reporting, documentation, and prevention.

Maintains hospital standards for a clean and quiet patient environment to maintain a positive patient care experience.

Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of job role or practice.

Adheres to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.

Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities.

Maintains compliance with organization's policies, as well as established practices, protocols, and procedures of the position, department, and applicable professional standards.

Complies with organizational and regulatory policies for handling confidential patient information.

Demonstrates excellent customer service through his/her attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization.

Adheres to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and DNV standards and/or standards from other accrediting bodies.

Provides the best possible nursing care by planning, organizing, and directing the nursing functions of patients on the unit.

Initiates and implements patient education and care plan.

Ability to assess, critically think, rapidly recognize and respond to clinical changes.

Makes nursing assignments appropriate to the skill level of employees.

Maintains acceptable standards of patient care.

Identifies problems and guides personnel to their solution.

Creates a working climate that provides growth and job satisfaction of personnel.

Accurately and promptly implements physicians' orders.

Administers medications and intravenous solutions skillfully and correctly.

Maintains the standards of accurate and complete recording and reporting.

Participates in hospital safety and security programs.

Supports and enforces infection-control policies and procedures.

Is resourceful and calm in emergencies.

Keeps the Nursing Supervisor informed of patients, needs, and problems on the nursing unit.

Participates in orientation and in-service training for personnel.

Evaluates the performance of personnel with recommendations for appropriate action.

Assists in reviewing and revising policies and procedures.

Maintains a professional approach with confidentiality.

Provides direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre and post surgery patients.

Collaborates on discharge planning with the interdisciplinary team.

Updating hospitalists on patients change of condition in a timely manner.

Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write clearly/informatively. Speaks clearly. Active listener. Communicates effectively with physicians, employees, patients, family, and the public. Reports changes in patient condition to Nursing Supervisor and/or physician.
