Paralegal

Beyers Costin Simon, a well-established Santa Rosa law firm specializing in real estate and business matters, is looking for an experienced litigation and/or transactional paralegal. The ideal candidate: Exhibits dependability, professionalism, and friendliness Exhibits very strong attention to detail Works well in a team environment as well as independently Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills Has the ability to multi-task efficiently Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & Outlook), Adobe Acrobat Professional, Lexis-Nexis, CAR Forms, e-filing procedures and automated calendaring systems. Job Description: Keep cases organized by establishing and maintaining files, monitoring calendars, tracking deadlines, documenting actions, and inputting information into file database Maintain attorney calendars, including recording and monitoring court appearance dates, meetings, pleading and discovery deadlines Draft legal documents, including pleadings, discovery documents and transactional documents File court documents with a working knowledge of current court processes Prepare correspondence and written reports Assist in compiling and classifying documents for production Coordinate and summarize depositions Conduct legal research using Lexis Follow up on delegated assignments Assist in all aspects of trial preparation, including evidence and exhibit compilation, witness interviews, subpoenas, appearance management, and jury instructions We are looking for someone with at least 3 years litigation, transactional or estate planning experience. This is a 40 hour per week, permanent position with excellent benefits, including 401k, medical/dental/vision and potential pay bonuses.
