Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital OR position requiring 1.5 years of experience and NBSTSA certification.

Details

Work in General OR, Ambulatory OR, and specialty surgical areas including Vascular, ENT, General Surgery, Gynecology, Neuro, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Robotics, Thoracic, and Urology

Perform or assist in procedures such as AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, cholecystectomy, hysterectomy, spinal fusion, cataract surgery, joint replacements, robotic surgeries, VATS, and prostatectomies

Three 12-hour day shifts scheduled 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM

Fair share of call and holiday coverage required, with 50% holiday coverage on contract

Mandatory floating required across units as assigned

Requirements

1.5 years of experience required

BLS certification required

NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist credential required

Cerner charting experience preferred but not required

MO or Compact license required and must be in hand at time of consideration (license required if applicable)

Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs

Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and during inclement weather

Additional Information

First-time travelers will be considered for this position

Facility does not accept local candidates residing within 50 miles

Candidates residing 51-74 miles away may be offered a local rate

Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to laser, radiation, and sharps safety protocols

Perform specimen handling/labeling and sterilization/disinfection duties

Participate in Universal Protocol (time out) procedures

Facility operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with routine contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses

Maximum RTO of 10 days, with none permitted during the first week due to orientation
