Job Title: Commissioning Technician Location: Philadelphia, PA Employment: Contract (6 month) Industry: Manufacturing Compensation: $30.00/hour Schedule: 40hours /week About the Opportunity:- Join a hands-on field service team supporting the modification, upgrade, testing, and commissioning of rail vehicles and related equipment.
- You'll troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems while working at customer sites to ensure equipment performs safely and reliably.

- Perform field modifications, retrofits, upgrades, troubleshooting, and repairs on rail vehicles and associated systems, including electrical systems from 24VDC to 480VAC.
- Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions in line with engineering requirements.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and installation instructions to complete work accurately.
- Test, inspect, commission, and validate modified systems to confirm they meet required performance, quality, and safety standards.
- Document completed work, identified deficiencies, corrective actions, and commissioning results while supporting startup, warranty, and field service activities.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience in performing field modifications and validating system functionality.
- Strong working knowledge of electrical systems from 24VDC through 480VAC.
- Proven troubleshooting experience involving electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical systems.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and engineering change documentation.
- Skilled in the use of electrical test equipment including multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, and related diagnostic tools.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and solve complex technical problems with limited supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Experience commissioning rail vehicles, transit systems, industrial equipment, or other complex electromechanical systems.
- Ability to perform software-assisted diagnostics and fault analysis.
- Familiarity with CAN communication networks, PLC controls, or vehicle control systems.
- Previous field service or startup/commissioning experience in a customer-facing environment.
