Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of students’ mental health, including identifying underlying issues affecting their academic and social performance.

  • Utilize evidence-based interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused techniques, to promote emotional and psychological well-being.

  • Maintain accurate, detailed clinical records in compliance with state laws and ethical practices, ensuring confidentiality at all times.

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team, including school staff, parents, and external mental health providers, to provide holistic support for students.

  • Educate students and families about mental health resources and provide guidance to empower them in their journey towards better mental health.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Your primary focus will be on school-aged children and adolescents who may be experiencing challenges related to mental health. This includes those coping with trauma, anxiety, behavioral issues, and other psychological concerns that impact their ability to succeed academically and socially. The role also includes working closely with parents and guardians to ensure a supportive home environment that reinforces the strategies implemented at school.

Qualifications\n

  • A valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license in the state of New York.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
