About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS & ACLS Must-Have: Telemetry experience and ability to read EKGs. Capability to handle a fast-paced unit with multiple admissions, discharges, transfers, and procedures. Description: This position is for a Cardiac Telemetry Unit. The unit has 25 beds. Staff includes 1 Charge RN, 6 RNs, 1 Unit Secretary, and 2-3 Techs on day shift. Night shift includes 1 Charge RN and 6 RNs. Patient ratios are 4:1. Equipment used includes EKG machines, Hoyer lifts, and LifePak. EMR utilized is Meditech. Most common procedures include EKGs. Most cardiac procedures are performed in the Cath Lab rather than on the unit. The ideal candidate is a team player with a positive attitude. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to prioritize and modify patient care in response to changing conditions while utilizing problem-solving skills and exhibiting good judgment. Appropriate and timely notification to physicians on patient condition changes is required. Floating to Med Surg has a low probability. Dress code is navy scrubs. Weekend requirements include every third Friday and Saturday from 7 PM to 7 AM, plus an additional Friday or Saturday. Additional assistance will be required during specific holidays.
