Maintenance SupervisorThis position is responsible to develop and maintain the Columbus facilities and equipment in top condition to facilitate maximum production capability. Must have a passion for continuous improvement of facilities, equipment, housekeeping, and safety.Essential Functions:This position reports to Maintenance Manager and has approximately 10 direct reports covering operationsEnsure that plant, property and equipment are kept in excellent conditionThe incumbent works closely with management to improve production process and productivityOversee implementation of plant improvement projectsImplement and maintain plant preventative maintenance programs both internally and with outside vendorsEnsure necessary maintenance and production supply items are immediately available storeroomEnsure equipment operates with maximum uptime and efficiency to help increase manufacturing productivityPlans, directs and inspects Maintenance Planning functions for Corrective Maintenance and Preventative MaintenanceWork closely with EHS and the ELITE Teams for safety improvementsParticipate in RCA meetingsComplete weekly Intelex and safety contactsOther Important Details about the Role:Make recommendations for capital expenditures to optimize the benefits for personnel, materials, and equipmentEnsure plant is in compliance with all federal and state guidelines to minimize the frequency and severity of industrial accidents and maintain environmental requirementsWork with outside contractors taking bids and explaining requirements for work to be performed within the plan and conduct final inspection of that workRequired Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):High school diploma and 7+ years of relevant experience or Associates Degree with 5+ years relevant experience or Bachelors with 3+ years of relevant experienceProficient using MS Word, Excel and OutlookFamiliarity with statistical quality tools including Pareto, histogram, process mapping, process capability and SPCStrong leadership, problem solving, planning, communication, and motivational skillsAttention to detail and accuracy while working in a fast paced environment with multiple deadlinesThe trait of being organized or following a systemic method of performing a taskAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionSelf-confident manner to facilitate completion of a work assignment or to defend a position or ideaJudgment and decision making skills while comparing relative cost and benefit potentialAbility to inspire, motivate, develop and direct people. Identify the best person for each task at handAnalytical Skills and the ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problemPassion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional resultsHighly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:Bachelor's or Associates DegreePrevious Maintenance supervisory experience in a metal fabrication facility.Working Environment and Physical Efforts:The Maintenance Supervisor works primarily in an office setting, with equal time being spent in different areas of production floor and shipping yard. The incumbent is regularly required to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. This position will be exposed to all hazards located at manufacturing sites including noise, fumes, excessive heat/cold, dust, welding arc, all chemicals associated with the manufacturing areas, fire, smoke, unstable debris and confined spaces. Environment is fast-paced and demanding most of the time. This position will require long days to support the Maintenance program for a multi-site, four shift, seven day a week operation. The employee needs to be able to understand, work and follow the safety rules of all areas of the facility including the use of personal protective equipment where required.The employee is frequently required to use hands to fingers, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrist rests. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds in working with large files, binders, computer equipment and shop equipment.
