Nurse practitioner / Physician Assistant - Cardiology - PRN

Position Summary Provide medical care and treatment to patients in the Cardiology Clinic and Inpatient settings at East Jefferson General Hospital. Positions are available on a PRN basis during day shift Monday–Friday, with some weekends and holidays. Candidates must have a minimum of 2years of provider experience. Responsibilities Perform physical examinations and preventative health measures within the physician’s guidelines. Plan treatment strategies that meet patients’ identified needs and evaluate responses to interventions. Provide quality patient care, promptly responding to patient calls and messages. Maintain accurate patient and business records, ensuring same‑day completion where possible. Observe and report signs of abuse or neglect in accordance with policy. Recognize emergencies and respond in accordance with organizational policy. Coordinate plans of care and review them periodically to maintain quality. Stay abreast of all federal, state, and local laws, statutes, and regulations; maintain confidentiality in line with HIPAA policies. Complete required continuing education hours to assure continued competence. Demonstrate professional ownership and commitment to core values of guest relations; exhibit leadership of the clinical team. Communicate with clinic leadership, escalating issues and presenting solutions. Assist with compliance to safety, environmental, infection control, quality‑improvement, and other regulatory standards; implement standard and transmission‑based precautions; perform hand hygiene; maintain a clean clinic environment; report hazards or violations. Provide input in hiring, disciplinary actions, and termination decisions of clinical personnel; attend daily huddles, staff meetings, and provider meetings; participate in ongoing performance‑improvement activities and initiatives. Qualifications Master’s degree from an approved NP program required, or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program (MS‑PAS). Minimum of 2years of provider experience. Licenses & Certifications BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Registered Nursing License (RN) from the Louisiana State Board of Nursing. Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license from the Louisiana State Board of Nursing or current PA license in Louisiana from the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. Skills & Abilities Medical skills. Computer software skills, including ICD‑10 and CPT‑4, and general working knowledge. Communication and guest‑relation skills.
