Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to laboring and delivering patients in a high-acuity Labor and Delivery unit. Ensure patient safety, monitor fetal and maternal well-being, and assist in various obstetric procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor maternal and fetal health throughout labor and delivery.
• Administer medications and interventions in accordance with physician orders and protocols.
• Support and educate patients and families during labor, delivery, and postpartum processes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to deliver comprehensive obstetric care.
• Assist with procedures such as inductions, cesarean sections, and SVDs.
• Document patient care accurately and maintain compliance with hospital policies.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with current state registration.
• Possess NRP certification; BLS required; ACLS and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring preferred.
• Have at least 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills and a friendly, patient-focused approach.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Knowledge of GE monitoring, Novii Wireless, Spectrum IV Pumps, and CADD epidural PCA is preferred.
