CLINICAL SUPERVISOR

POSITION PURPOSE:The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for providing 24-hour management of all clinical functions of the respective program (i.e. Detox, PHP, IOP, Etc.). Also responsible for providing effective leadership to assigned clinical staff, has knowledge of, and direct all activities within the program in accordance with standards of State and Federal regulationsSchedule - Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (on-call responsibilities)POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION:Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a master’s degree in psychology, Social Work.EXPERIENCE:3 years management experience in the substance abuse or behavioral health setting, with continuous Quality Improvement, Joint Commission standards. Communication skills related to all levels of management staff is preferred.LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:Texas RequirementsSubstance UseA Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with an active and unrestricted license. Additional certifications in addiction treatment, such as Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) may be preferred.Mental HealthA Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) must hold a license for 5 years, , Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-S) must hold a license for 3 years, or LCDC license and obtain the Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS). Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with an active and unrestricted license.AGE SPECIFIC INDIVIDUALS SERVED/ RESPONSIBILITY:AdultsSPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITIONDirect management and supervision of Primary Therapists, Case Managers, Group FacilitatorsExecute clinical philosophy in programming through education, training, and clinical supervisionEnsure that staff performance and client experience is consistent with the highest standard of carePerform direct care at all levels of careFacilitate supervision meetings & training with clinical team at the direction of CD or in the absence of CDAssess therapists’ and case managers’ individual performance and address shortcomings and areas needing improvementParticipate in training process for new personnelConduct process groups, educational, chemical dependency, and other groups as assigned.Build & maintain a cohesive treatment teamIdentify shortfalls in clients completing full continuum and implement corrective actionInterface with leadership/ownership on organization’s vision and objectivesFacilitate involuntary commitments (Marchman Acts & Baker Acts)Create Staff Scheduling for Program Clinical StaffApprove PTO and review/approve Timecards for CM and TherapistsAssist with addressing HR Issues related to clinical staffInterview for Program Clinical StaffAttend quarterly meetings for the following committees: Clinical Peer Review CommitteeComplete Quality Audits and Client Surveys follow upQP signing of chartsCarry a caseload of clients (This number differs depending upon the level of care)Manage Intern ProgramAdhere to the facility’s philosophyMaintain an effective clinical organizational structure and delegate appropriate authority for completion of assigned responsibilities.Implement plans for improvement in performance.Provide for staff development (i.e. supervision, education, etc.)Facilitate communication with ancillary services.Attend clinical and administrative meetings to share information inter-departmentally.Meet with clinical staff weekly.Work collaboratively with the Clinical Director.Demonstrate knowledge of administrative and clinical policies and procedures, and the ability to communicate these clearly and accurately to staff.Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures; ability to communicate these procedures clearly and accurately.Display ability to direct and supervise Program activities.Ensure clinical staff meets educational/licensure requirements.Evaluate clinical staff based on specified performance standards, on a timely basis.Demonstrate adaptability and flexibility to changes in the work environment.Always Follow Infection Control guidelines.Provide a safe and therapeutic environment for all staff and patients.Assist in formulating standards for patient care.Protect the privacy of all client information in accordance with GRNH, LLC’s privacy policies, procedures and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a healthcare provider.
