Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: New York License Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must have New York license in hand - no exceptions Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for a PCU specialty position. The shift will be 4x12 hours overnight. The contract length is 13 weeks. Weekend work is required every other weekend. First-time travelers are accepted. Locals must reside within a 75-mile radius. Floating to other units is required. Candidates should be able to manage a 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratio in a Med-Surg setting. Experience with EPIC charting is mandatory. Additional responsibilities include cardiac monitoring and emergency response. The nurse should be capable of interpreting and managing dysrhythmias. IV therapy and phlebotomy skills are essential. Knowledge of respiratory management including nasal cannula and oxygen face masks is required. Experience with isolation precautions is important. The unit cares for adult acute care patients requiring specialized attention. Patients will have continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring. The care team will adapt quickly and provide compassionate, evidence-based care. Candidates should possess experience in managing and caring for various medical diagnoses. Interdisciplinary support will be available from multiple services.
