The Role
- Full-time, 100 percent hospital-based working manager role
- Lead, coach, and retain associate veterinarians across assigned hospital(s), fostering a collaborative, inclusive culture
- Set and uphold medical quality standards through medical record reviews, audits, and patient safety reviews
- Provide direct patient care part of the week, including preventive care, dentistry, diagnostics, and routine surgery
- Oversee onboarding and clinical coaching for new veterinarians; develop future veterinary leaders
- Partner with practice managers to meet hospital KPIs; create and execute improvement plans
- Ensure full regulatory compliance, including controlled substances and radiation safety; serve as Responsible Veterinarian for permits as required
- Manage medical equipment needs and inventory
- Recruit and engage veterinary talent; represent the hospital within the local veterinary community
- Champion access to care and outstanding client service; resolve escalated client concerns appropriately

Requirements
- DVM or VMD from an accredited institution
- Active Virginia veterinary license (or eligibility to obtain)
- Federal DEA license (or eligibility)
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Demonstrated leadership experience mentoring or managing veterinarians and clinical teams
- Proficiency in general practice medicine, dentistry, and routine surgery
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with medical record review, quality assurance, and KPI-driven operations
- Comfortable with practice information systems and standard office software
