Receiving Associate

Responsibilities Receives goods and verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from trucks and trailers; checks against supplier count and immediately reports discrepancies to carriers, manager and purchasing agent. Carefully and accurately maintains shipping records for requested categories including goods returned and returnable pallets. Notifies manager of major discrepancies, over‑shipments, or substitutions. Completes information on damage claims for in‑transit damage. Transports materials on shipping dock with a crane, or other vehicle as needed. Partners with material handlers to unload or load trucks as needed. Performs daily physical counts of inventory and year‑end cycle counts to ensure accuracy against system records. Assigns stock (components/parts) to active work orders. Labels and stores inventory items in their designated locations within the warehouse. Determines which items require Quality Assurance Department inspection and which items require MSDS labeling. Answers customer questions and parts inquiries by email or phone. Assists internal customers with locating specific items. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Qualifications Excellent customer service skills. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Ability to use inventory computer programs to update counts. High attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate with various departments simultaneously. Good manual dexterity skills. Great critical thinking and problem‑solving skills. Outstanding prioritization, time management and organizational skills. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. One year of warehouse/stockroom experience.
