Direct Support Professional (DSP)

American Hearts & Home LLC is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our DSPs play a vital role in empowering individuals to live meaningful, independent lives while receiving high-quality support in their homes and communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered support based on each individual’s service plan.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including personal care, hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation.
• Support individuals with community integration, social activities, recreational outings, and appointments.
• Teach and reinforce independent living skills such as cooking, budgeting, cleaning, and communication.
• Promote choice, dignity, respect, and self-advocacy.
• Maintain accurate documentation and daily service notes.
• Report changes in health, behavior, or safety concerns promptly.
• Follow all state regulations, agency policies, and individual support plans.
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of the individuals served.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous DSP, caregiver, CNA, PCA, or related experience preferred (training provided for qualified candidates).
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance preferred.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, compassionate, and committed to providing exceptional support.
