Diesel Technician

Diesel Technician We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will maintain, diagnose, and repair our fleet of trailers to ensure safe and efficient transportation operations. Location Mesquite, TX Schedule Tuesday–Saturday; 5:30am–2:00pm Key Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and inspections on trailers including brakes, lights, tires, and suspension systems Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and perform necessary repairs Conduct DOT inspections and ensure all trailers meet safety and compliance standards Maintain accurate service records and documentation Perform welding and fabrication work as needed Replace and repair trailer doors, hinges, flooring, and other structural components Service and repair refrigeration units on temperature-controlled trailers (if applicable) Collaborate with transportation team to prioritize repair schedules and minimize downtime Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required 2+ years of experience in trailer maintenance and repair preferred Strong knowledge of air brake systems, electrical systems, and trailer components Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment Welding and fabrication skills preferred Valid driver's license required; CDL preferred but not required Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Technical Skills Proficiency with diesel engine diagnostics and repair Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics Experience with computerized diagnostic equipment Understanding of preventive maintenance schedules and procedures Why You’ll Love This Job Tool & Boot Allowance – $300 annual boot allowance and $500 annual tool allowance Comprehensive Benefits – Health, dental, vision, retirement plans, and paid time off Competitive Pay & Shift Differentials – Opportunities for additional pay Growth & Stability – Work with a company that invests in its mechanics and keeps you busy year-round Benefits We Offer Health, Dental, Vision, and Employee Assistance Program Paid Vacation, Holidays, and Your Birthday off Generous Employee Discount on home furnishings Professional Development Opportunities Ashley Wellness Centers (location specific) and Medical Tourism Telehealth 401(k) and Profit Sharing Life Insurance We are an equal opportunity employer and provide a drug‑free working environment.
