Transportation Coordinator

Job Purpose Our Transportation Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring and coordinating the transportation and distribution of products necessary to meet business needs while maximizing efficiency and minimizing costs. Job Responsibilities Prioritize waves of product to be picked to meet shipping schedules and work with inventory control to resolve discrepancies. Process rapid delivery, courier, and will calls on an hourly or as needed basis. Ensure orders are grouped and released in the most efficient manner. Adhere to rules and guidelines for picking product in the warehouse to fulfill customer orders. Analyze the optimal number of trucks/containers needed for shipments and re‑assign carriers as required. Close and dispatch all outbound trailers nightly prior to end of shift. Generate orders and metric reports for warehouse workers; print and reprint labels, check inventory status, input shipping data, create manifests, troubleshoot, and correct errors in wave batches. Follow mandatory procedures to meet quality standards and comply with external regulatory and internal codes of conduct. Adhere to the organization’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies to mitigate risks. Meet ANSI Z75 standards. Perform additional duties as required. Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications Ability to operate a variety of material handling equipment. Familiarity with a computerized warehouse system preferred. Work Experience 1–3 years of related job experience. Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes. Excellent verbal, written, people‑oriented, and diplomatic skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong planning and organization skills. Warehouse experience in a distribution environment preferred. Education High School Diploma or GED preferred. Working Conditions Non‑climate‑controlled warehouse with potential exposure to cold, heat, damp or humid conditions. Exposure to loud noise. Exposure to dust, mechanical hazards, moving objects, and moving vehicles. Physical Requirements Lift, twist, and carry 50–75 pounds; manipulate up to 160 pounds of product with material handling equipment and skids weighing up to 2,000 pounds using a pallet jack. Walk throughout the warehouse; stand when operating order picker, reach truck equipment, or cutter. Sit only when operating sit‑down material handling equipment. Lifting items weighing a few ounces up to 150 pounds with assistance. Stooping and bending at the waist when filling orders or putting away products at floor level locations. Kneeling when filling orders or putting away products at floor level locations.
