A.R. Mazzotta is partnering with a respected precision manufacturer in the Waterbury area to hire an experienced Senior Quality Layout Inspector. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a quality professional who enjoys working with precision-machined components, interpreting complex engineering drawings, and ensuring every part meets the highest standards before it reaches the customer.

In This Role You'll
- Perform complex layout inspections and First Article Inspections (FAIs) on precision-manufactured components
- Verify dimensions and tolerances using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, sine plates, and related inspection tools
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to resolve inspection and manufacturing issues
- Assist with root cause investigations and continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced inspectors
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 3 years performing advanced layout inspections and First Article Inspections
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and blueprint interpretation
- Proficiency using a wide variety of precision measuring instruments
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing or developing custom inspection gages
- Background in precision machining, aerospace, medical device, or other high-tolerance manufacturing environments
