Job Opportunity

Position Description

This is a travel position for experienced healthcare professionals in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) setting. All previous permanent employees of any affiliated facility must have been separated from the health system for a minimum of three months to qualify for the role.

Shift Information

• Shift Type: Night 3x12-Hour
• Shift Hours: 19:00 - 07:30

Unit Information

The General ICU handles a variety of cases including but not limited to:

• Sepsis
• Post cardiac arrest
• IABP (Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump)
• COVID-19
• Respiratory failure
• Severe DKA (Diabetic Ketoacidosis)
• Multi-system organ failure
• CIWA (Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment)
• GI Bleed
• Renal failure
• Stroke

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Active compact license required
• Certifications:
  
  
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Preferred

Skills Required

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Management of patients with multi-system organ dysfunction/failure
• Arterial line management
• Central line care and management
• Continuous IV sedation
• Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• BiPAP/CPAP management
• Care of ventilated patients
• Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Suctioning (endotracheal tube, nasotracheal)
• Isolation precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE)

Working Environment

The unit supports an interdisciplinary approach to patient care, collaborating with various professionals including:

Patient Age Groups

This position involves caring for adults and geriatric patients.

Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities as needed. It is expected that travelers will adhere to scheduled commitments.
