Aftercare Aide

Job Summary

The Aftercare Aide at St. Gerard Majella Catholic School provides supervision and care for students after school hours in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. This role encourages positive social interactions, supports student well-being, and helps maintain a calm and organized setting aligned with the school's Catholic values.

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise students during after-school care to ensure safety and appropriate behavior
• Lead and assist with activities such as games, homework time, and quiet play
• Maintain a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment
• Monitor student behavior and address concerns according to school policies
• Assist students with homework and provide support as needed
• Follow proper student check-out procedures to ensure safety
• Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration
• Keep the aftercare area clean, organized, and well-maintained

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience working with children in a school or childcare setting preferred
• Strong supervision and communication skills
• Ability to manage groups of children in a structured setting
• Dependable, patient, and responsible
• Basic organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment
• Willingness to support the mission and Catholic values of the school
