What You Will Do As a Paramedic in the Emergency Department, you will provide immediate and advanced patient care to sick and injured individuals while working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members. Assess patients and determine appropriate emergency care priorities Provide advanced life support interventions in accordance with established protocols Perform emergency diagnostic and treatment procedures including IV initiation, cardiac monitoring, specimen collection, splinting, and equipment management Perform advanced airway management and ventilatory support procedures Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and approved protocols Monitor and manage cardiac dysrhythmias utilizing EKG interpretation, defibrillation, synchronized cardioversion, and transcutaneous pacing Provide care for trauma and medical emergencies using advanced assessment and treatment skills Maintain accurate and complete patient documentation Respond calmly and effectively during emergency situations Assist with departmental operations and community outreach activities as needed Perform all other duties as assigned What Sets BRG Apart At Baton Rouge General we are a community of compassionate, caring individuals who set the bar when it comes to healthcare excellence.
