Job Description
Respiratory Therapist (RRT-NICU)

We are seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist specialized in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) settings to join our team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with young patients in need of specialized respiratory care.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care to NICU patients, ensuring high standards of patient safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop, implement, and evaluate respiratory care plans.
• Utilize advanced respiratory equipment and techniques relevant to neonatal care.
• Conduct patient assessments and monitor respiratory status, responding to changes in condition as necessary.
• Participate in clinical reviews and documentation as required.

Work Schedule

• Available shifts of 36 or 48 hours per week.
• Schedule includes every other weekend and every other holiday, with the requirement to work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays.
• Day shifts consist of 3x12-hour blocks, from 07:00 to 19:00.
• The unit employs a self-scheduling model. While preferences are noted, the manager will explain how accommodations are made based on staff availability and unit needs.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 4 NICU experience.
• Experience in Cardiac Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is preferred.
• Current RRT certification, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications are required.
• ACCS certification is preferred.
• A Virginia license is required; candidates may submit with pending VA license provided they can obtain a temporary license before start, and must hold another valid state license to qualify for temporary licensure.
