Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel About Facility: Church St N, Concord, NC 28025 o 457 licensed beds Trauma Level III Teaching Hospital Chest Pain Center Stroke Center of Excellence Bariatric Center of Excellence Radius rule: Traveler’s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit ● Unit Information: Beds: 32 Experience: 18 months Med/Tele RN experience First-time travelers welcome ● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Small bowel obstructions, general surgery (colectomy, colon/small bowel resections, nephrectomy, hysterectomy, mastectomy, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repairs, splenectomy, thyroidectomy), kidney stones, pneumothorax, bariatric surgery, rib fractures, hip fractures, joint replacements, cellulitis ● Patient Ratios: RN: 1:4-6; surge times could be 1:7-8 ● Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS ● Skills required: o trach chare, chest tube management, PIV starts, NG tubes, ostomy care, drains, wound care, continuous bladder irrigation, tube feeds, cardiac rhythm interpretation ● Support within the Department: CNA duties: Yes, NA 4 No receptionist Charge nurse, 24/7 Phlebotomy, 24/7 peripheral blood draws IV/VAT Team Resource Nurse as staffing allows RT 24/7 Hospitalist 24/7 Intensivist 24/7 Telemetry monitor tech: yes - remote ● Technology/Equipment: EMR: EPIC IV Pump: BD Alaris Med dispensing: Omnicell Monitors: Masimo, remote tele ● Floating: Travel nurses will be first to float to other nursing units and provide flexible staffing support based on patient care needs and staffing demands. They will demonstrate adaptability and clinical flexibility when floating to other units.
