Dispatcher

Klapec Trucking | Full-Time | In-Person

 

Klapec Trucking Company is seeking a dependable, organized, and motivated Dispatcher to join our transportation team. The dispatcher will coordinate drivers, loads, routes, and schedules while maintaining strong communication with customers, drivers, and management.

The ideal candidate can work in a fast-paced environment, solve problems quickly, and keep multiple loads moving efficiently and on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily dispatch operations and driver schedules
• Assign loads to company drivers
• Plan efficient routes and monitor driver progress
• Communicate with drivers throughout their trips
• Coordinate pickup and delivery appointments
• Communicate professionally with customers, brokers, shippers, and receivers
• Track loads and provide timely status updates
• Handle delays, breakdowns, traffic issues, and other transportation problems
• Maintain accurate records of loads, mileage, hours, and delivery information
• Review and manage required shipping and transportation documents
• Monitor Hours of Service (HOS) and help ensure company and DOT compliance
• Maximize equipment and driver utilization
• Assist with rate negotiations and load scheduling when needed
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve issues promptly

Qualifications

• Previous trucking, transportation, logistics, or dispatch experience preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Strong knowledge of transportation routes and logistics
• Comfortable using computers, phones, GPS, and dispatch/logistics software
• Ability to make quick decisions and solve problems under pressure
• Strong attention to detail
• Professional and dependable work ethic
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and Hours of Service is a plus
