Opportunity:

MS Stroke Stepdown Patients

Job Details:

• Work 12.5-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Floating to other units required
• Navy blue scrubs required
• 2+ years of medical-surgical experience with stroke stepdown experience required
• Travel experience required
• Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• NIH certification required for this unit (can be obtained prior to start)
• Active NY nursing license required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Care for adult patients with common diagnoses including stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, dialysis, COPD, CHF, isolation cases, general medical-surgical conditions, pneumonia, and pulmonary issues
• Work with specialty equipment including IV pumps, nasogastric tubes, and feeding tubes
• 64-bed unit capacity
• Block scheduling is never promised or guaranteed

This healthcare organization operates a specialized medical-surgical stroke stepdown unit providing comprehensive care for patients with neurological and complex medical conditions. The facility maintains a 64-bed unit dedicated to caring for adult patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and treatment between intensive care and general medical floors. The organization utilizes EPIC electronic medical records and maintains high standards for nursing care with specialized equipment and protocols for stroke and complex medical patients.
