Franconia Auto Care is looking for an experienced, reliable, and currently certified Virginia State Safety and Emissions Inspector to join our automotive repair team in Alexandria, Virginia.

We are a busy, established automotive repair facility offering Virginia safety and emissions inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and general automotive repairs.

We are seeking a dependable professional who can independently perform both safety and emissions inspections, follow Virginia inspection requirements, and assist with general automotive repairs when needed.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform Virginia State Safety Inspections in accordance with Virginia State Police regulations.
• Conduct Virginia emissions inspections in accordance with applicable program requirements.
• Accurately complete inspection documentation and maintain required records.
• Identify vehicle safety concerns and communicate inspection findings to the service advisor.
• Perform general automotive maintenance and repairs, including brakes, tires, steering, suspension, and lighting systems.
• Assist with additional mechanical repairs and diagnostic work based on experience.
• Maintain inspection equipment and keep the inspection area clean, safe, and organized.
• Follow all applicable inspection procedures and shop safety policies.

Required Qualifications:

• Current Virginia State Safety Inspector certification.
• Current Virginia Emissions Inspector certification.
• Ability to independently perform both safety and emissions inspections.
• Familiarity with Virginia inspection procedures and documentation requirements.
• Valid driver's license.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in an automotive repair shop.
• General automotive maintenance and repair experience.
• Ability to perform brake, suspension, steering, and other mechanical repairs.
• Basic automotive diagnostic skills.
• Own automotive repair tools.

Work Schedule:

• Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM–2:00 PM
• Full-time position with a consistent weekly schedule.
