Radiologic Technologist (ARRT-R)
Location: Des Moines, IA
Setting: Outpatient Orthopedic Clinic
We are seeking a patient-focused Radiologic Technologist to join a busy outpatient orthopedic clinic. This position combines diagnostic X-ray responsibilities with hands-on clinical support, making it a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, patient interaction, and working closely with physicians and clinical staff.
What You'll Do
Perform diagnostic X-rays based on physician orders
Adjust positioning and imaging techniques to capture requested views
Prepare and room patients for examinations
Record medical histories, medications, allergies, and vital signs in the EMR
Access and manage internal and external PACS images
Assist physicians with injections and minor in-office procedures
Remove casts, dressings, sutures, and staples as directed
Provide basic wound care and apply minor splints when qualified
Support efficient patient flow throughout the clinic
Greet and check in patients while verifying their information
Clean and maintain X-ray rooms and equipment
Stock examination rooms and clinical work areas
Follow all radiation safety, quality assurance, and patient confidentiality standards
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited two-year Radiologic Technology program
Current ARRT(R) registration
Current state permit or license to practice
Current CPR certification
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong communication, organization, and patient-care skills
Ability to work effectively with physicians, patients, and clinical team members
Comfortable using electronic medical records and PACS systems
