Machinist

Machinist Key Tasks Read and interpret blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts. Operate manual and CNC fabrication machinery to produce custom parts according to client needs. Write CNC programs. Select the appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials required for each individual job. Examine and measure completed units and parts to ensure conformance with predetermined specifications; ability to adjust machine controls to resolve any production errors. Inspect machinery for any needed repairs; performs minor repairs within expertise. Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision. Maintain cleanliness and safety of work area. Your Background 5+ years in a machine shop environment, machine shop apprenticeship, or relevant skilled trades position. High school diploma or equivalent required. Excellent Machining and fabrication skills, including CNC programming. Proficient in blueprint reading, and ability to work without blueprints if needed. Proficiency in the English language (written and oral). Proficient math and computer skills. Strong communication skills (written and oral). Strong problem‑solving skills. Good interpersonal skills. Welding skills are a plus. Leadership in a fabrication or skilled trades setting a plus. Other qualifications or experiences.
