Physical Therapist PRN

The Physical Therapist I provide physical therapy services including evaluation, treatment and follow up and documentation using general competencies for inpatient and outpatient children referred to the physical therapy department. Provide supervision for PT aides/assistants and students with specific tasks and/or patients. Provide continuous consultation and education to families. The Physical Therapist I is an entry level position in a Career Advancement Program (CAP). ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Job Details: PRN - not eligible for benefits Shift: Variable, primarily weekend and holiday coverage, minimum of 1 weekend a month and 2 holidays, rotating coverage. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Collaborates with the family, physicians, schools, and other providers to ensure the continuum of care for the child and optimal clinical services. Provides consultation and education to other professionals and families as necessary. Completes written documentation in accordance with department standards for format, location, and time frames. Independently evaluates patients with a variety of diagnosis, in specialized programs, on inpatient and/or outpatient units. Incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services. Assists in achieving departmental financial budget targets. Demonstrates leadership and participates in systematic, planned professional development to improve the clinical, educational, research, and advocacy goals of the department and hospital. Provides consultation and education to families. Treat children across the continuum, with a variety of diagnoses, in specialized programs on inpatient and outpatient units and in the community. Incorporates principles of cultural-competence and family-centered care into clinical services. Seeks out appropriate mentoring/training and consults with relative Program Coordinator and/or assigned mentor for complex patient diagnoses. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION - Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or related field of study EXPERIENCE - Experience in acute care pediatrics preferred CERTIFICATION(S) - BLS for Healthcare Providers/CPR LICENSURE - State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) Physical Therapist license; Credentialing must be completed by the Medical Staff Office (MSO) within 3 months of employment Salary Information Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
