Nurse Supervisor - Cardiology

Position Summary Scheduled Hours: 40 hours per week. Washington University Cardiology is seeking an independent Nurse Supervisor to lead our Electrophysiology team across three clinic locations (CAM, CAM‑South County, and West County). This leadership role manages a team of 12 Nurse Coordinators, with primary responsibility for day‑to‑day staffing needs, personnel management, and the creation of staff schedules. Responsibilities Team Leadership: Manage the RN team, including performance mentorship and professional development. Operations: Oversee day‑to‑day staffing needs and manage the staff schedule for the three clinic locations. Clinical Oversight: Support the RN team in device interrogations, procedure coordination, triage, insurance navigation, and patient education. Patient Advocacy: Coordinate complex treatment plans and address social health deterrents for a growing regional patient population. Collaborative Culture: Work alongside physicians, APNs, and administrative staff. Schedule: Weekday, daytime position with no weekends or holidays. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Supervise nursing staff, including hiring/firing responsibilities, performance appraisals for subordinates, and initiating disciplinary action. Coordinate patient services with physicians and staff to provide quality care, conducting rounds to ensure patient care delivery. Facilitate educational opportunities and quality improvement activities for staff to ensure compliance with medical school and regulatory guidelines. Assign/coordinate activities and duties of staff, orient new staff, and advise administration of conditions and performance issues. Provide direct patient care as needed, including development of patient care plans, administering medication, vitals, phlebotomy, monitoring IV therapies, and maintaining records in accordance with approved nursing techniques. Promote and maintain good public relations with patients and families, acting as liaison between other departments. Provide appropriate counsel to patients/families explaining medications, procedures, and teaching care to ensure continuity of care and promote health maintenance. Monitor supplies/equipment ordering/repairing as required. Current LPN or RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, in accordance with the Compact Act. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (online BLS certifications that lack a skills assessment component do not meet requirements). Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Illinois or Missouri, per location requirements. Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent. Active listening, communication, critical thinking, cross‑functional teamwork, customer empathy, education resource development, Epic EHR, family support, good clinical practice, HIPAA compliance, interpersonal communication, leadership, nursing practice, organizing, patient care management, and patient education skills. Salary Grade S28: $71,300.00 – $128,400.00 per year. Base salaries are determined by qualifications, performance, equity, market rates, and department budget.
