Field Survey Technician

Through our work, we define land boundaries and analyze spatial data. We are currently hiring experienced Field Survey Technicians for opportunities in our Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio offices. You will work with direct supervision and general direction on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a Senior Surveyor. You will perform surveying, mapping and data collection activities. Your Key Responsibilities Loads vehicles with tools and equipment, ensuring materials are loaded correctly. May be required to drive company vehicle to reach jobsites. Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of vehicles, tools, and equipment. Verifies the accuracy of field survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites, and prepare maps or sketches of work performed in the field daily. Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. Your Capabilities and Credentials Working knowledge of field survey methods and calculations. Working knowledge of local survey laws, rules, and regulations. Developing understanding of field instrumentation, GPS, and robotic total stations. Good cooperative skills in working efficiently with a team. Good math skills, including algebra and trigonometry. Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record. Education and Experience Associate's degree or technical school preferred but not required. 1-3 years of related work experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and related experience. Position will primarily work in a field setting. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
