We are looking for a Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team!

Job Type: Full-Time

Experience Level: Journeyman (Licensed)

Job Summary

AAB Electric is seeking a skilled and reliable Journeyman Electrician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in [Residential / Commercial / Industrial] environments. You will work independently or as part of a team to ensure all projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in strict accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Repair: Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes.
Blueprint Reading: Interpret blueprints, circuit diagrams, and technical drawings to determine the layout of electrical systems and ensure accurate installation.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety standards. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Mentorship: Provide guidance and on-the-job training to electrical apprentices and helpers.
System Testing: Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair.
Customer Service: Represent AAB Electric professionally on-site, communicating effectively with clients and project managers regarding job progress and technical requirements.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Licensing: Valid Michigan Journeyman Electrician License.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local electrical codes.
Tools: Proficiency with various testing devices (multimeters, ohmmeters), power tools, and hand tools common to the trade.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders/scaffolding, work in confined spaces, and stand for long periods.
Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English [Optional: Bilingual in Spanish is a plus].
