Who We Are:

Isabel's House, Crisis Nursery of the Ozarks, opened its doors on June 25th, 2007.


Mission statement: To provide immediate refuge for children, ages birth to 12 years, whose families are in crisis. By partnering with families and the community, we will strengthen families and prevent child abuse and neglect.


What We Do:

• Child abuse and neglect is preventable .
• Isabel's House provides 24/7/365 care for the community's most vulnerable children when the family is in crisis.
• Families who bring their children to Isabel's House partner with our team of Family Advocates to create a plan specific to each situation.
• Our team works to connect parents and caregivers with the right resources to address their crises and build up the family.

Since opening, we have cared for more than 5,000 children and served more than 2,000 families.

What You'll Do:

Isabel's House seeks individuals dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect while providing a warm and loving home for children during their stay. The Family Advocate is a professional team member of Isabel's House. A Family Advocate has the primary responsibility of assessing family needs, planning, developing, and implementing an individualized treatment plan for each child and family and providing case management for families served by Isabel's House. Family Advocates work independently and collaboratively with all members of the Isabel's House team.

Qualifications

• A Master's Degree in social work (MSW) is required. A degree in psychology, counseling, sociology, criminology, or other human service field may be considered if the candidate has at least 4 years of experience in case management. Must demonstrate excellence in organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Prioritize caseload and workload independently and appropriately. Exercise sound judgement, critical thinking, personal responsibility, and problem-solving, while maintaining strict confidentiality standards.
• Experience with residential care and/or with at-risk children preferred.
• Knowledge of current community resources is preferred.
• Excellent computer skills required.
• Valid driver's license, proof of vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation.

Working Conditions:

• Work on a computer for long periods of time (up to four hours)
• Sit or stand for long periods of time (up to four hours)
• Health risks due to daily contact with children
• Required to transport children
• Required to lift children weighing up to 50 pounds
