Inspector

Job Description

Hill International is seeking an Inspector in South, Central, and North Jersey. This position is open to collect resumes in anticipation of upcoming work.

Responsibilities

• Attend pre-construction meetings when necessary.
• Evaluate plans and specifications for construction projects to ensure conformance with regulations.
• Conduct field inspections to verify standards of structures and materials.
• Assist in issuing violation notices and stop-work orders where structures and materials do not comply with regulations.
• Report deviations and non-compliance with the scope of work.
• Prepare a detailed daily inspector's report with manpower, material quantity, equipment, photographs, and maintain records of documentation.
• Attend meetings of construction projects.
• Successfully complete Rail Safety Training (NJT Light Rail or other Agency Training may be required).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Construction Inspector in multiple construction disciplines (Civil, Structural, Architectural).
• Active experience in rail yard environment.
• Education or training in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management.
• Trained in OSHA 30 hours construction safety.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Proficient knowledge of construction work safety.
• Computer literacy and good written and verbal communication.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Available to work all shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Cell phone with smartphone capabilities (receive/send files, photos, video).

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000. The salary offered will be based on the applicant's qualifications, education, experience and work location.
