Job Summary
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) Location: unspecified. This position involves providing specialized nursing care within the Labor and Delivery department of the healthcare provider. The role includes managing obstetric, antepartum, triage, postpartum, and surgical patients, with a focus on patient safety, clinical excellence, and adherence to established guidelines.

Job Details

• Certifications Required: AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, BLS Certification; Minimum Experience Required: 3 years.
• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, Day and Night rotations, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Responsibilities include caring for obstetric, L&D, antepartum, triage, postpartum, and surgical patients, administering titratable IV medications such as Pitocin and magnesium, and participating in patient monitoring and documentation.
• The unit maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:1-2 for L&D and 1:2-3 for postpartum, with additional nursing staff including OB scrub techs, nurses' aides, and surgical techs.
• Equipment includes GE/Corometrics fetal monitors, and RNs are expected to read telemetry strips for C-section patients.
• The unit operates with in-house OB, Neotologist, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, and anesthesia staff, ensuring 24/7 coverage.
• Floats may be required to Peds, NICU, Med/Surg, PCU, ICU, ED, or Psych units, with scheduled orientation provided.
• Candidates must follow RTO policies, with initial RTO approval needed.
