Nurse Practitioner-Hospice/Palliative Care

Job Overview Banner University Medical Group and the Division of General Internal Medicine, Palliative Medicine, and Geriatrics are seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our growing palliative care program in Tucson, Arizona. The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for delivering comprehensive, patient‑centered care within an academic medical inpatient setting to adult patients aged 18 and older with serious, chronic, or life‑limiting illnesses. Responsibilities The Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner will work within an interdisciplinary team model, collaborating with physicians, NPs, social workers, chaplains, case managers, community hospice, and other staff. Key duties include: Clinical symptom management for patients with serious illnesses. Engaging in serious and end‑of‑life discussions with patients and families. Providing consultations regarding goals of care and advance care planning. Assisting in clinical decision‑making within an academic environment. Minimum Requirements Current/Eligible ACNP and FNP Certification and Arizona License. ACHPN preferred or expected to obtain within 2 years of joining the team. Current CPR and BLS certification. Current prescribing privileges, including a DEA license for controlled substances. Experience preferred in Palliative, Hospice, Geriatrics, ICU, or Oncology. Excellent communication and teamwork skills; readiness to thrive in an academic setting. Work Schedule Full Time, Monday‑Friday, Daytime Shift (7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) No call; no weekends.
