Nursing Supervisor - Emergency Department (ED) - Full-Time Days at Texas Health HEB Work location: Texas Health HEB, 1600 Hospital Parkway, TX 76022. Work hours: Full‑Time Days – Tuesday to Friday – 1/12 hour shift and 3/8 hour shifts per week. Emergency Department Highlights Working with a multidisciplinary team Opportunity to work with a diverse patient population Opportunity to work with cutting‑edge medical technology and equipment Potential for high job satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment from making a difference in patients' lives Work/life balance and opportunities for educational and professional growth Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team Professional nurses demonstrate understanding of basic human needs and recognition of patient affiliations Required Qualifications Associate Degree in Nursing; BSN preferred CLIAFE – Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required) RN – Registered Nurse upon hire required BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care, maintained quarterly ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire 2 years experience as a registered nurse with previous charge nurse or similar leadership role (charge nurse, committee chair, preceptor) required 2–3 year ER experience preferred NIHSS – National Institute of Health Stroke Scale Certification within 90 days ENPC – Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course within 12 months of hire required TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course within 12 months of hire required Job Responsibilities Collaborate with leadership, UBC, and team members to establish, implement, and monitor department policies and procedures, facilitate unit goals, evaluate patient care, and provide direction to staff to promote quality outcomes. Manage and monitor patient and staff safety initiatives and outcomes. Model use of high reliability organization (HRO) tools in everyday practice and encourage staff to do the same. Provide bedside leadership on the unit, coordinating patient flow, care, and assignments; assist the manager/director with HR functions including evaluations, coaching, mentoring, recruitment, retention, education, and orientation; help control costs and manage department budget and productivity.
