Construction Estimating Project Engineer

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has a proven track record of previous administrative experience in engineering and/or civil construction work. Key Responsibilities / Skills Assist estimators by quantifying elements of construction using PDF plans, 2D CAD files, and 3D models; scopes of work typically include concrete structures, light rail trackwork, mass earthworks, roadways, highways, aviation, facilities site work, and underground utilities. Generate earthwork volumes using PDF plans or 3D models; calculate volumes using end‑of‑area or volume methods. Use Microsoft Excel to create spreadsheets that calculate, compare, and summarize quantities of construction materials. Review contract documents, drawings, and specifications; understand scope, constraints, tolerances, and material types. Complete takeoffs using partially complete or in‑progress design documents; visualize the general intent on incomplete drawings. Coordinate with other takeoff personnel to facilitate accurate quantity comparison in a timely manner. Maintain a realistic schedule and gauge effort required to complete tasks. Maintain organized records of working drawings and takeoff summaries. Identify missing design elements or overlaps with other disciplines. Create exhibits for review that show takeoff assumptions and communicate what has been included or excluded. Benefits Ongoing HR support.
