The Mechanical Technician maintains, repairs, and improves mechanical equipment used in solar module production. This role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment repairs to support safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyors, robots, laminators, testers, pumps, and other production equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and repair or replace components such as motors, belts, gears, bearings, seals, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
• Conduct root-cause analysis on recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Support equipment calibration, alignment, optimization, and continuous improvement activities.
• Assist with installation, commissioning, upgrades, and modifications of production equipment.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering, Electrical, Automation, and Quality teams to resolve equipment issues.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, manuals, and technical documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, repairs, equipment modifications, and performance.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout, equipment safety procedures, company policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Participate in safety inspections and identify mechanical hazards or equipment risks.
• Provide emergency or after-hours maintenance support when required.

Required Qualifications:

• Technical training or practical experience in mechanical and industrial maintenance, automation, electrical technology, electronics, mechatronics, industrial controls, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience supporting industrial automation, controls, electrical systems, or automated manufacturing equipment.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical equipment, motors, bearings, belts, gears, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems, PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, motors, drives, alarms, and interlocks.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics, wiring diagrams, control drawings, and technical manuals.
• Ability to safely use electrical and mechanical meters, programming devices, diagnostic software, and hand tools.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Training &/or Experience Preferred:

• Technical diploma, certificate, or Engineering degree is a plus.
• Experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, or similar PLC platforms.
• Experience with motor, conveyors, pneumatic systems, mechanical drive systems, HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, industrial sensors, machine vision, and safety controls.
• Experience in solar, semiconductors, electronics, automotive, automated assembly, or other advanced manufacturing environments.
• Experience with equipment commissioning, production ramp-up, or automation upgrades.
• NFPA 70E, OSHA, Lockout/Tagout, Siemens, Rockwell, CAP, or related certification preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, lubrication systems, bearings, seals, and mechanical drive systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Ability to use mechanical diagnostic and maintenance tools.
• Strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
