Major & Essential Functions As a Registered Nurse, you will play an essential role in delivering direct patient care and supporting the health and well-being of patients at the Fort Stockton Lynaugh Unit. Responsibilities include: Providing professional nursing care to patients at the Fort Stockton Lynaugh Unit Administering medications as ordered while adhering to facility policies and procedures Maintaining knowledge of medication dosages, reactions, and contraindications Utilizing Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to communicate patient data and support clinical decision-making Preparing and operating equipment and instruments for exams, treatments, and procedures Assisting with intake and discharge documentation, including obtaining accurate patient histories Inspecting and monitoring patient care equipment, supplies, and medication refrigeration systems Serving as relief charge nurse when needed and delegating tasks to nursing support staff Communicating with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers regarding patient care needs and significant incidents Coordinating patient transfers and providing detailed reports to receiving units or hospitals Competitive pay State of Texas benefits, including Medical, dental, and vision insurance, Retirement through TRS, Paid holidays and generous paid time off Stable schedule with built-in days off Medical malpractice coverage Long-term career stability with an academic healthcare system Registered Nurse Differential Day Shift Employees: Earn an extra $4.00 per hour for shifts worked on Saturday and Sunday. Required Qualifications Current RN license in the State of Texas, or ability to transfer license to Texas, or scheduled to complete a program of nursing within 120 days of applying for a position.
