What You’ll Do Here Assist with daily substation construction activities under the direction of experienced crew members Begin interpreting Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings and support redlining as directed Support installation activities across various substation scopes Learn proper use of tools, materials, and consumables in a construction environment Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow all safety procedures and actively contribute to Aecon’s safety culture Proactively ask questions and seek guidance to build technical knowledge and skills What You Bring to the Team Minimum of 1 year of substation field experience and a strong interest in developing a long-term career in substation construction. Developing exposure to: Conduit installation and routing Ground grid installation and basic grounding practices Precast trench installation and layout Cable tray installation Apparatus installation assistance Bus work installation support Building a foundational understanding of substation materials, consumables, and tools, and are eager to expand your knowledge in the field. Demonstrate a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and the initiative to ask questions and improve your skills. Positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a safety-first mindset. Reliable, motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment while contributing to team success.
