Registered Nurse (RN) - Behavioral Health

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Behavioral Health to join our team on a travel assignment. The ideal candidate will support both the Emergency Department (ED) and inpatient units. This is a 12-hour night shift position requiring commitment to work 36 hours per week, including every other weekend and possible holiday shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Behavioral Health setting.
• Support the de-escalation of agitated patients and ensure a safe environment.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document patient care and progress in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Participate in continuous education and training to enhance skills and knowledge in Behavioral Health.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of current hospital experience in Psych/Behavioral Health.
• Experience working with pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients.
• Proven skills in de-escalation techniques for agitated patients, with training such as CPI, MOAB, or NAPPI/Welle being highly preferred.
• Prior travel nursing experience of at least 3 months is required.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system is mandatory.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Must possess a valid New Hampshire RN license or compact license at the time of profile upload.
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
• Must have reliable transportation for commuting to assignments.

Additional Requirements

All medical and occupational health compliance items must be completed within 5 days of accepting an offer. Proof of compliance must be submitted with the traveler's profile. Any requested time off must be noted in the profile upon submission; requests made after submission will not be accommodated.

This position mandates commitment to work special holiday blocks, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's weekends, if scheduled and needed.
