The Mechanical Assembler works on a production assembly line building smart safes using a bill of materials and standard work instructions. This role involves simple mechanical assembly with hand and power tools, performing repetitive tasks while alternating between sitting and standing throughout the shift in a clean, climate-controlled production environment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble smart safes on a production assembly line using a bill of materials and established procedures.
- Perform simple mechanical assembly tasks using a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
- Follow detailed assembly instructions and quality standards to ensure each unit meets required specifications.
- Work in a repetitive task environment while maintaining focus, accuracy, and consistent output.
- Alternate between sitting and standing as needed to complete assembly tasks throughout the workday.
- Collaborate with team members and support cross-training activities to learn multiple assembly tasks and stations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Meet daily production goals while adhering to all safety and quality requirements.
- Be available for overtime as needed based on production demands, including starting early, staying late, and working some weekends.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience using basic hand tools in a work setting.
- Mechanical assembly experience, preferably in a production or assembly line environment.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while standing for extended periods, with some sitting as required.
- Capability to follow a bill of materials and written or verbal assembly instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability and punctuality to support consistent production schedules.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime based on production needs, including starting as early as 6:00 a.m. and staying as late as 5:00 p.m. when required.
- Comfort working in a structured, process-driven manufacturing environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous assembly line experience is preferred.
- Experience in roles requiring standing and performing repetitive tasks, such as production line or general labor positions, is beneficial.
- Experience using hand and power tools in a mechanical or production setting.
- Mechanical assembly background, including working with hand tools and basic mechanical components.
- Ability to read and follow a bill of materials and, where applicable, basic blueprint or diagram information.
- Ability to adapt to cross-training and learn new assembly tasks or stations.
- Comfort working in a team-oriented environment focused on safety, quality, and productivity.

Work Environment
This position is based in a clean, climate-controlled production facility on an assembly line. The work environment is structured, process-oriented, and focused on safety, quality, and teamwork. Standard hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with frequent overtime. You must be able to start as early as 6:00 a.m., stay until 5:00 p.m. as needed, and be willing to work weekends during busy periods. The role involves working with hand and power tools, performing repetitive mechanical assembly tasks, and alternating between standing and sitting throughout the shift in a well-organized production setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carrollton, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
