Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team for a 12-hour night shift. This role involves maintaining equipment in full operating capacity and ensuring safety protocols are adhered to at all times.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all equipment in full operating capacity.
• Adjust soap percentages appropriately.
• Practice safe work habits and report unsafe conditions or actions to the department supervisor or manager.
• Calibrate production scales and process instruments when needed.
• Read maintenance instructions, manuals, electrical prints, and mechanical drawings.
• Adhere to safety and facility work rules.
• Keep tools accounted for, in good condition, and clean.
• Ensure work areas are maintained and clean.
• Perform assigned work correctly and efficiently.
• Maintain equipment per CMMS guidelines and ensure work information is accurate in CMMS, notifying the manager of any corrections or additions.
• Properly book spare part inventory items.
• Lift and manage weights of up to 75 lbs/35 kgs as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• High school degree or G.E.D. required.
• High degree of concentration and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work in an environment with exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, high noise levels, cold, and heat.
• Ability to visually identify color differences.
• Three years of maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
• Knowledge of electrical control systems, HVAC equipment, and rubber industry production equipment.
• Familiarity with general industrial construction practices.
• Knowledge of welding, pipe fitting, conduit bending, and sheet metal fabrication.
• Ability to resolve conflict professionally.

Work Environment

This position is for the 3rd shift, from 7:45 PM to 5:45 AM, requiring 10-hour shifts from Monday to Thursday. The work environment is not climate-controlled and can be dirty in various plant areas. Although the team collaborates effectively, individuals must be comfortable working independently.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Statesville, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr.
