Women's Soccer Head Coach

To serve as the Head Women's Soccer coach.The head coach willbe in charge ofall aspects of the Women’s Soccer program, including recruitment of quality student athletes, retention, fundraising, conditioning programs, organizing and planning practices and game strategies, andassistingin scheduling contests and coordinating travel. ESSENTIALDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Recruiting qualified student athletes within the intercollegiate athletic program to ensure compliance with the conference and national rules,establishingpractice as well as holding practice sessions, scouting of opponents, preparing for, and coaching during games. Manage and report sports information through telephone and or written communication,including:releasing statistics, and results to the press as well as toconferencessites. Assistwith planning and managing program budgets. Assistin schedule andcoordinatingathletic travel, transportation, andaccommodationswith the transportation coordinator. Assistin program’smeet schedule with the athletic director. Assistin game management for various athletic events. Distribution, cleaning, and collection of uniforms and equipment. Perform other duties as assigned. SUPERVISION RECEIVED Direct supervision received fromthe Director of Athletics. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’sDegreeor a similar combination of education and experiencefrom which comparable knowledge and skills areacquired. Valid driver’s license. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Knowledge : Comprehensive knowledge ofUSCAA rules and regulations. Ability to deal effectively with students, college personnel, as well as professionalUSCAA compliancenetworkand others outside of the university. Coachingknowledge andexperience. General knowledge of Microsoft Office. Understanding ofthe educational goals andobjectivesof Vermont State Universityincludingattention to accessibility and diversity, equity, and inclusion. Skills : Strong and varied technical skills and interest in recreational activities. Broadbase of knowledge and skills related to athletic facilities, management, coaching,recruitingand other relevant experience. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Abilities : Weekend and evening work isrequired. Demonstrated ability to positively influence student skill development, such as communication skills, leadership skills, academic skills, technical skills, non-cognitive or ‘soft’ skills, and social skills. Demonstrated ability to foster student development in the attainment of student success goals, such as academic purpose, sense of belonging/identity, agency, career readiness, civic readiness, access & equity.
