Technical Support Analyst III

Job Summary:

The DVS Technical Support Analyst 3 is a skilled IT professional responsible for providing comprehensive technical support and IT administration at the Puller Veterans Care Center in Warrenton, VA. This 100% on-site role involves managing approximately 200 IT devices, supporting agency-specific software and hardware systems, and assisting with IT integration and support at remote Veterans Benefits offices. The position requires expertise in desktop support, network troubleshooting, mobile device management, and customer service within a medical facility environment. Responsibilities:

• Provide IT administration and technical support for desktops, laptops, phones, printers, and mobile devices.
• Support integration, management, and maintenance of IT systems at the Puller Veterans Care Center and remote Veterans Benefits sites.
• Set up, configure, and troubleshoot PC desktops, laptops, peripheral devices, and mobile devices (Android and Apple).
• Manage and troubleshoot LAN/WAN environments, including network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Install, administer, troubleshoot, and train users on email applications including Google Suite and PST files.
• Perform IT inventory control, ticketing, and reporting tasks.
• Configure and troubleshoot analog and digital phone systems.
• Resolve network, infrastructure, desktop hardware/software, and telephone system issues.
• Identify and report security vulnerabilities and incidents promptly.
• Track end-user support activities through a ticketing system and monitor network and computer system performance.
• Document system changes and create technical documentation and training materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support IT operations.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Proficient knowledge of Windows Operating System installation, troubleshooting, and administration.
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and antivirus software (must have McAfee Anti-Virus Software).
• Basic knowledge of PC and peripheral device setup, configuration, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of mobile device setup, configuration, and troubleshooting (Android and Apple devices).
• Working knowledge of LAN/WAN networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
• Experience with email application installation, administration, troubleshooting, and user training.
• Basic experience with IT inventory control, ticketing systems, and reporting.
• Experience with analog and digital phone system configuration and troubleshooting.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills with a professional and courteous attitude.
• Ability to create clear, user-friendly technical documentation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive physical activities such as standing, sitting, reaching, lifting, walking, bending, and climbing.
• Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation for occasional travel.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with IT staff training via in-person or electronic media.
• Familiarity with network and IT security best practices.
• Experience supporting IT presentations using equipment and software.

Special Considerations:

• Position requires 100% on-site presence at 6951 Vint Hill Parkway, Warrenton, VA from Day 1 with no exceptions.
• Occasional travel (up to 20%) to NOVA and Front Royal DVS regional benefits offices is required; all travel expenses reimbursed by the agency.
• Candidate must provide proof of a clean driving record and valid driver's license.
• Initial interviews will be conducted virtually, with mandatory follow-up in-person interviews.
• Candidate must have McAfee Anti-Virus Software, Adobe Acrobat, and other commercial business software products installed and highlighted on their resume.
• Must comply with Commonwealth of Virginia security policies, including residing physically within the US for the assignment duration.

Scheduling:

• Full-time, 100% on-site work schedule at the Warrenton, VA location.
• Assignment duration approximately 6 months with possible extension (10/05/2026 03/12/2027).
• Standard business hours with potential occasional travel during the workweek.
