With over 300 employees across seven locations worldwide, Belvac is able to support customers in real time in over 150+ countries.General FunctionSet up and operate numerically controlled machines to perform series of machining operations, such as turning, milling, boring, threading and facing on parts according to work instructions and procedures to assure Belvac's quality of work is upheld.Physical RequirementsRequires long periods of standing (up to 10 hours/day)Must be able to operate overhead cranesAlthough all production areas have overhead cranes, on occasion Manufacturing, Stockroom and Assembly employees may choose to lift items by hand for convenience. It is the responsibility of all employees to follow correct lifting techniques and seek help or utilize mechanical lifting aids as appropriate to avoid potential injury.Requires good eye, hand coordinationRequires use of hand tools, files, sanders and grindersPrimary ResponsibilitiesIdentifies proper tooling and checks instrumentation according to process sheetsMakes new set up sheets for new jobsSelect and installs preset toolingSelects and installs preset tooling in tool posts, turrets or indexing heads and automatics tool change magazine, in sequence specified on process sheetReviews program to make sure that it is consistent with printMay operate machine manually throughout first piece operation to verify accuracy of setup.Observes numerical displays on control panel and compares with data on process sheet to verify dimensional adjustments, feed rates and speeds of machining cuts.Inspects first-run piece and spot-checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications, using micrometers and precision dial gaugesAbility to read programsMay set tools before positioning them in machine, using precision gauges and instrumentsUse of machine dials, machine readout, measuring equipmentKnow and utilize the program prove out procedureIdentifies proper tooling and checks instrumentation according to process sheetsUnderstand/correction of machine alarmsRecognize tool wearVerifies location and dimensions of holes, using measuring instruments, such as dial indicator, gauge blocks, telescoping gauge and internal micrometerRequired to run at least two functionally different CNC Machining Centers, i.e. CNC lathe/CNC millEdit program when neededMust run multiple machines.Use of tooling types/applicationsEducation: HS Diploma or Equivalent CertificatePay Range: USD 17.63 - 29.17 HourlyThis position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.We consider several job-related, non-discriminatory factors when determining the pay rate for a position, including, but not limited to, the position's responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, a candidate's education/training, the position's location, and the key skills needed for the position.
